Masa Restaurant approached us to design a brand for a new fine dining eatery they were opening in Derbyshire. The location was unique as it was in a former Wesleyan Chapel that the restaurant owners had restored, keeping many of the original features such as the pews and the stained glass windows in place.
Masa wanted a brand that would reflect the quality of the menu and also reflect the uniqueness and history of the location while still adding a modern twist.
We visited Masa restaurant to get a feel for the surroundings it was immediately apparent that the place was special but how to reflect this in the branding? The logo was designed to reflect the stained glass windows in the restaurant, with the three wine glasses clearly visible in the logo, the typography is modern to create a strong contrast of the old and the new combined and the colours represent a rich and regal feeling of quality which is echoed thorough the restaurant.
Website and numerous items of stationery and menus were also required which continue the rich regal feeling of quality created from the branding.
